Sisters who blog. How cray.

After seven years at my school (a disturbingly large proportion of my life!), I finally had my last day there. But before we all rushed terrifyingly into two months of sporadic exams to hit our offers, we had a final day of fun! Disney Day! We took over the school with our childhood stories and dressed up as the familiar characters we all know and love.
Obviously, my choice was Mulan!
So today I'm sharing with you how I did my makeup on the day to recreate this fearsome warrior of China! (Reference Photo)

As I'm typing this up, I realise that I forgot to add my concealer and brow pencil into the mix (sorry!) but I used my Fit Me Concealer in 10 and Rimmel London Professional Eyebrow Pencil in Black/Brown. Please also ignore the disaster that was the spot on my cheek, I tried my best!

From a recent FragranceDirect order, I picked up one of the Calvin Klein Delicious Luxury Creme lipsticks in Ethereal after hearing so much about them! It was super cheap for just £1.99 but with a designer name attached!

The first thing I noticed was how similar this lipstick looked in the tube to one of my other pinky nudes - Lancôme L'Absolu Rouge in 06 Rose Nu, which I absolutely adore!

Since both aren't exactly drug store products - retailing at ~£13 and ~£21 - a comparison seemed like the obvious next step!

Earlier this week I received the new April Glossybox: Iconic Hollywood Edition!

This was one of their limited edition collector's boxes "inspired by the silver screen stars" of Hollywood as Evie Leatham writes in her Editor's Letter - complete with vintage face chart on the reverse! I got the one in a lovely baby blue, with the other options being a coral, yellow or mint green box.

This week, we were taking a look at our lipstick collections and stumbled across a severe lack of suitable reds for the both of us. Even though we had them, we found that what we thought was a simple red lipstick for a classic makeup look turned out to be much more complicated - with pink-based reds, orange-based reds, deep reds, bright reds, matte reds and reds with all different finishes!
And that doesn't even take into account how each of these works with every individual skin tone. Reds which worked for one of us didn't necessarily suit the other! 

And so, we thought we would help you all out and post some swatches of our own reds on both of our skin tones so you could see how different they look and let us know which ones you like :)
